le bohème.

Today I realized that more often than not, people are telling me things I do not want to hear. It puts me into quite a precarious situation, nonetheless reinstating the fact that I am the keeper of all secrets. I'm full of them, no doubt. I believe I may even be made of secrets. I'm such a gypsy, I love it.
Today I wore one of the outfits I received for Christmas. I love it! My mom picked it out and she is quite proud! She already has good style, who else would I have learned from at such a young age? I can't believe I forgot to mention Nine in my last blog post! I finally saw it! I have to admit, there were moments when I was bored out of my mind. Overall I was kind of disappointed. "It wasn't what it was supposed to be!" I kept saying. Marion Cotillard was my favorite though, especially the "Take It All" scene.

start a revolution.

I am really sucking it up lately when it comes to blogging. I guess I am just too lazy. Christmas was superb, of course. My mom picks out the best clothes/jewels for me. She knows me and my style so well it's almost scary! I feel like I have a new wardrobe, it's invigorating. Not to mention I got my sewing machine!!! Can't wait to learn a few tricks on that sweet thaaang.
The other night I watched Taking Woodstock, oh boy. That movie is unreal, I love it more than life. I've been enjoying my break to the fullest which means I have been watching as many movies as possible. And of course I have continued my quest of watching the entire Sex And The City series, which is addicting. I thought I had seen all of the episodes but now as I've been on this journey I feel as if I haven't seen any. Strange.

I've come the the conclusion that I want to wear a pink wig on my Vegas adventure this weekend. It has to happen.

nineteen ninety never.

Sadness seriously overwhelmed me when I heard about Brittany Murphy the other day. Such a sad thing to happen to someone so young! It got me thinking about her career and some of the movies she's been in. Which is odd because I have been wanting to watch Clueless for a while, but unfortunately growing up I only had it on VHS. Hence the reason I went out and bought the DVD today, like a loser. It's okay though i'll allow it. Anyhow, basically all these thoughts led me to the thought about how much I love the 90's. Some of my favorite everything came from that decade. People, movies, music, fashions...everything. A few of my favorite movies such as Girl Interrupted, Fear, Cruel Intentions, and The Craft. Or some tunes like Nirvana, The Cure, Alice in Chains, Annie Lennox...I mean honestly. Supreme stuff.

Here is a little playlist I put together of just a small collection of songs I love from the 90's, enjoy.

It's all happening, people.

blahblahblah.

Last night was another fairly successful night on the weekenders scale. Drei and I went to a concert and stood out in the cold for almost an hour, unacceptable. I complained the whole time but I couldn't help it. The cold is not my friend! Afterwards we ended up going to a party where apparently we were not welcome by many of the girls there who didn't know us...so ridiculous. What can you do? I don't have time to waste caring about those who can't accept new people. *In these pictures I am wearing a new jumper of mine. Yes, it looks like a dress, but it is in fact a full on jumper with shorts and I love it!

Anyhow, I got a new piece of art from my talented cousin Dallas. I am so into her stuff it's ridiculous. I can't wait to frame what I have and get it hung up on the wall once I move out. I love glittery things, like I have said before, and that is her favorite medium to work with so it excites me to see all of the fun things she makes! This one is of Marie Antoinette, whom I love more than most. Moving right along, Ke$ha's new album comes out on the 5th of January and I cannot, cannot wait!!! I really love her. I heard her song Tik Tok forever ago and now it's all big and famous, #1 on iTunes and all. Normally when an artist I knew about when they were in underground mode becomes well known, I kind of get over them and move on...but I love her too much to care. Some of her new songs are on Myspace so I suggest you take a listen. :)

weekend warriors.

Last night was such an adventure, let me tell you. We attended a classy little Christmas gathering, full of hipsters galore. It turned out to be quite fun and I met a few very eclectic individuals. Who knows if I will ever see them again, but it was fun for the night being. Anyhow, the apartment building it was in, we ended up loving and wanting a piece of it. Therefore I think Caitlyn, Drei, and I have found a new place of living. How exciting! It's a building that was built in the 1920's so it's pretty old, but it's very cute and unique. And with the combined stylish efforts of the three of us, I think it'd be pretty supreme.

winter wonderland.

So today I just realized that Christmas is only one week away, a WEEK! I don't know why I thought we still had a while to go. What the crap, yo. I was listening to some classy Christmas Ella Fitz today and it kicked me right into gear. I was going about my day and thought about an idea my cousin had last night. I text him and said "we should go to Vegas next weekend". And he was like, "hello, it's Christmas next week, remember?" (I did not remember, I did in fact think it was the following week). Therefore we rescheduled, and I am so excited. Roadtripping is one of my favorite things to do. It gives you so much time to adventure, and think. Because this weekend some friends and I are making Gingerbread houses. Which is suddenly quite necessary, since I have never done it before. And next week is Christmas, and following that is New Years. Then of course an epic weekend in Vegas. The only downer is that after Vegas I am scheduled to get my wisdom teeth out, joy joy joy. Oh well, I'm excited for all that is in store! It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, that is for sure. Okay, here's the thing. Rodarte for Target is happening this weekend! And I get paid this weekend! I'm afraid of the damage I'm going to do, I can't control myself in these situations. There is so much from this collection that I want, so I know I am doomed. I suppose I'll just say a prayer that I don't end up wanting it all. Because I need to not buy it all. I'm trying to teach myself how to save money. But it's not happening, this lesson is not easy to learn. Oh boy, wish me luck.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

quando, quando, quando.

Honestly, it's unnecessary for me to describe the level of excitement I have reached regarding the movie Nine. First of all, the cast is unreal. Nicole Kidman has always been one of my favorites, especially in Moulin Rouge. That will forever be one of my top three favorite movies, in this whole wide world. Second of all, I can tell the costumes are going to be unreal. When Kate Hudson performs Cinema Italiano she wears the most amazing costume! It's so glittery and dazzled in diamonds! I want it for myself. I'd find a way to wear it, I promise! I think that might be what I am most excited for is the costume work. Anyhow, the soundtrack came out today (but I got it early, thank you pre-order), and it's superb. It has nearly reached Moulin Rouge status for me, which is a big deal. Big deal. Not to mention nine is my favorite number! Needless to say, if Christmas Day is slow at any point...you all know where I'll be!

Today, ohhhh what a day it was. In the midst of mean old ladies, traffic jams, and stupid finals, I am alive. Wow. At least I only have one more essay to go, then I am free to be! Weekends can't come soon enough though, I live for the weekend. Do I ever! Luckily I have the day off tomorrow. And that my friends, means that I can stay up late watching Community...quite possibly one of the funniest shows I have ever seen. I love the disco spider, I do I do! Au revoir!

fairest of them all.

I am the definition of lazy on Sundays. I should be doing a number of other things yet I find myself blogging even when I don't have the slightest idea what to blog about. I sit in bed all day, literally. I am not ashamed! I just let my iPod shuffle and read magazines or watch movies. I never do anything too productive. I've been listening to some music from Snow White today, I truly cannot wait to get the Snow White DVD for Christmas. She was one of my favorite princesses, after Ariel of course.

This weekend didn't present me with any superb opportunities to take some good photos, so I just have a couple photobooth ones from Friday. As for now, I am off to study!

knowledge.

When it comes to boho chic, I buckle at the knees a bit. I am such a sucker for the hippie style. I take so much inspiration from the late 60's and early 70's. I know I write about it a lot, but it kind of plays a big part in my every day life. The music I listen to, the clothes I wear, the way I speak and even think. No one can really understand how deep something affects you until you think about it good and hard. I'd like to dedicate this post to some real legit knowledge I have come across these past few days. In the midst of my studying for finals and scurrying about this snowy city, I have surprisingly had a lot of thoughts going on in this head of mine (what's new). Knowledge is powerful. I mean when It comes to school, I barely scratch the surface...I'm not completely interested in why a certain brush stroke was painted vertically rather than horizontally. Or why the artist used red rather than maroon. Quite frankly I don't think any of that matters in art, it's all about your own personal interpretation. There shouldn't be a set definition for why someone painted a masterpiece. However, in a real life sitch, I'm smart. I'll give myself that one.

Of course this isn't my only era for inspiration, duh. I think it's kind of a necessary part of fashion to be able to draw from all aspects of life. It makes your style that much more personal. And who doesn't like to get a little personal? Actually I'm quite closed off emotionally so I take it back, and I take it back fast. Anyhow, I suppose this post is a bit off kilter but that's me for you! It's all happening.

"All because of you baby. Don't you know you're fresh as a daisy, as fresh as a daisyyyyyyy".
One of my favorites, Fresh As a Daisy by Emitt Rhodes. Go listen!

obsession.

I have a love for Chanel's pressed powder, and this love runs real deep. I first started using it my sophomore year in high school, and I don't think I will ever stop. It gives you such a fresh look. Not to mention it has the softest floral scent that I can't help but love. This is my favorite makeup item to splurge on, it runs at about $50 a pallet and it is so worth it, it lasts me decades. Speaking of decades I think I am due for a trip there soon, I'm in the mood for some vintage love.

Fascinations.

I've realized I have quite a fascination with people watching, of course I have always known this about myself. I used to drive to the airport and just sit and watch all of the people reuniting and the glory of it all. I truly could stay there for hours if I had the time. People are fascinating.
Another thing or two I have realized, I love the word "fascinations". And also, I'm a unique soul. I like that I can say that, I have a lot of random qualities and I think that makes for a fairly entertaining life.
Anyhow, I don't have much to say today not to mention I have a pretty intense test with my name on it just waiting in the wings. Superb, it's all happening.

bittersweet symphony.

Today I have been in an absolutely horrid mood, the thought of smiling or even being nice to someone almost killed me. Seriously. And of course I work in a job where I am expected to be nice and happy all the time, so today was a struggle. Suuuuch a struggle. I'll spare everyone of my terrible thoughts and post the pictures I received the other day, yay!

completion.

Momentous occasion! I've finally come up with a new name and image for my blog. How funny that these things were right in front of me all along. The image I used for my header was actually a picture my cousin did for me a couple months ago. She is such an amazing artist! I love love love this one. It represents my boho free spirit self, so well. Swell! The new name for my blog is "it's all happening". This is obviously something I say quite often. I took it from the movie Almost Famous. For some reason it's one of those sayings that has stuck with me, and I am glad. Future tattoo maybe. Just a thought...anyway. I like my new setup for my blog much better than the old diddy.

I've had quite the week, I'm sick with a miserable cold and I look it too. Bleh. Hopefully things shape up by the weekend because I've got a few places to be and I don't want to miss out on Birthday festivities! It's my bff's Birthday on Sunday, we've been friends for...oh 12 years I think? Long time, I love my Rizzo more than she will ever know. BWB for life.
